If you are in Gran Canaria and you feel like getting into Active Tourism, we present you our Hiking Route to Roque Nublo!
Roque Nublo is a monolith that stands as the highest point on the island of Gran Canaria. Located in Tejeda, this natural space of 451 hectares will introduce you to the local flora and fauna as you hike through it.
Our route of just over 7 kilometres in small groups (only 15 people!) will take you through landscapes of Canary Island pines, heartwoods and other typical Canary Island flowers as you ascend the rock. On the way, we will explain the biodiversity that inhabits the area and you will be able to recognise the also famous Roque Bentaiga.
Once you have finished the ascent, there you will find it: the imperious Roque Nublo with its 80 meters high at an altitude of more than 1800 meters, the perfect moment for the best pictures of your holidays!
From the top you will be able to see incredible views to the west of the island, seeing Artenara, La Aldea de San Nicolás and, with luck, if the day is clear you will be able to see El Teide in Tenerife.
Itinerary (approx. 8 hours):
- Pick up in the tourist areas by Minivan
- Arrival at the Base of Roque Nublo in Tejeda
- Walk through the Roque Nublo Natural Park
- Picnic stop
- Return to the hotels
